The Best Photography Spots in Bangkok
There is little denying that Bangkok offers some of the most picturesque locations. From its iconic city skylines, charming temples to vibrant markets – you will not definitely run out of amazing places for great photography.
We have asked our favorite local and Bangkok-based photographers to let us in on the secrets of the best places to photograph Bangkok.
Whether you are a professional photographer, a hobbyist or a hardcore Instagrammer, these tips on the best photography spots in Bangkok will guide you, to help you capture the enchanting beauty of the Thai capital.
1. Udom S.
The best spot in my opinion is the Sky Bar at Lebua Hotel State Tower. It is where the Hollywood movie, The Hangover II was filmed. I like this place because it offers some of the best views of Bangkok’s cityscape, as well as the historic Chao Phraya River. You can experience almost 360 degree city view of the Thai capital from this sky bar. Tip: Head to this rooftop bar at sunset, so you may also enjoy a cocktail or two. Dress code: Casual, no athlete dressing. Tripod: Big tripods are not allowed to use. Backpacks are not allowed too. [Instagram: @oatoasta]

My favourite spot is definitely the car park of Esplanade Mall (Level 4) with the view of Ratchada Train Night Market. The colours are very vivid and the photos always come out great. The secret? I don’t think there is one. You just need to feel the city and capture it. Bangkok gives you plenty of opportunities for brilliant snaps on almost every corner. For me, the best places are certainly the rooftop spaces, the Chinatown, WongwianYai and Sukhumvit. [Instagram: @dima_trionix]

3. James Manasathit
I think any visitor or photographer coming to Bangkok must visit Wat Arun even at least once. Known as the ‘Temple of Dawn‘, it is one of the most spectacular landmarks in Bangkok. The most magical view of this shimmering temple can be adored from the east side of the river at sunset or at night under the starry skies. [Instagram: @jmspht]
4. Teguh Priambodo
The best spot to capture Bangkok’s authentic urban life is Hua Lamphong Railway Station. Any shot at Hua Lamphong Station could give you a thousand answers why the Thai capital is one of the best cities in the world. It is Bangkok’s central train station, which serves as the main hub for intercity and international train services in Thailand. [Instagram: @teguh_priambodo]
5. Worawut Yimsiri
I like Benjakitti Park because it offers a perfect mix of nature and urban space. There to see are towering skyscrapers, a central lake, verdant gardens and trees. It is perfect for nature lovers who are seeking for a spot to rest and relax.. and of course, to take some photographs. [Instagram: @bank__worawut]
